The simplest solution to avoid this scenario is to disable the notification system of Android when using the photo application. We explain to you how to proceed.

Do Not Be Bothered By Notifications When Taking A Photo

The budding photographer that you are certainly already bitter experience. You spot a beautiful landscape that you want to immortalize. You take your smartphone out of your pocket, you place the lens of your camera in front of the magnificent panorama and when you press the shutter button you feel like a buzz in your hands.

It is actually a vibration related to the arrival of a new push notification. Unfortunately it is too late, your shot is definitely missed . Indeed, it is very difficult not to say impossible to correct a blurred photo with photo editing software.

To make sure this does not happen again, there's nothing stopping you from muting notifications before taking a picture. But in the long run it becomes quickly binding. And obviously one time out of two we forget to reactivate the alert system which can be particularly troublesome especially when waiting for an important message.

Block Notifications When The Camera App Is Open

In this guide, we'll unveil a technique to force your Android phone to automatically disable notifications as soon as you launch your camera app. And to be sure not to miss any SMS, the alert system will reactivate the closing of the photo app without any intervention on your part.

And do not think it's very complicated. The solution proposed here does not require any programming knowledge. With the MacroDroid application you will be able to automate the most common tasks in a few clicks.

Here are some examples of tasks that can be automated on your smartphone using MacroDroid. For example, you can activate the Wi-Fi function as soon as you enter your home or activate the silent mode every night at a fixed time. But let's go back to our blurred photo problem.

Create A Macro To Disable Notifications

The MacroDroid app runs on virtually all Android smartphones. Just check that your device has version 4.1 or higher of Google's mobile operating system. This last point should not be too difficult for you. Smartphones that do not respect these recommendations have become extremely rare.

Launch the Google Play Store app
Download the MacroDroid app on your smartphone
Launch the task automation tool
Click on the red Add Macro button on the main interface of the application
Press the + button at the bottom left of your phone screen
You will arrive at a window titled Create a macro
Click the Application option found in the trigger topic and then click Open Application
Check the Camera box corresponding to your phone's photo application
Confirm your choice by pressing the Ok button
Then enable accessibility settings for the MacroDroid app
Return to the main screen of the automation tool using the back button on your phone
Then select the Action tab at the top of the screen
Scroll down until the Volume option appears
Click on it to bring up additional options
Select Do Not Disturb mode and then select Block all or allow only important notifications.

MacroDroid will suggest you to add exceptions so that your important contacts can contact you even when taking pictures. Here you just have to give a name to your macro (eg disable notifiers) and save your macro.

Note that it is possible to add constraints to your macro. These are optional options that allow you to allow or prohibit the launch of a macro based on certain conditions (time, battery level, GPS position etc.). That's almost done. The last step is now to create a trigger to force your phone to reactivate notifications after the Camera application is stopped. The operation will not just take you more than just 5 mints.

Place on the MacroDroid home page
Click the Add a macro button and then the + button
Select the Application option
Check the box Closed application then Camera
Click on the Ok button
Open the Actions tab
Select the option Volume in the list then the mode Do not Disturb
Check the Allow all box
Then give a name to this macro

Avoid Blurry Photos

You are finally here at the end of this long tutorial. Now all you have to do is test your macro. To do this, simply launch the Photo application and check in the status bar that the Do not disturb icon is displayed. Then close the camera app and make sure Do Not Disturb has been disabled. In case of problem, you will have to open MacroDroid then click on the menu Macros. The new window will display all the automation macros you have created on your smartphone.

Make sure both switches are turned on. Obviously when you do photography especially in poor light conditions you must absolutely hold your smartphone firmly in your hand. A stable grip will allow you to get clearer shots. The latest-generation Android phones carry a lot of photographic equipment. Whether autofocus, dual lens system or image stabilizer miss a photo has become virtually impossible or almost impossible.

Although very effective, these devices will not help you to remove the tremors caused by poor grip. We do not always think about it and yet simply pressing the shutter button tends to move the smartphone. Make a habit of keeping your elbows pressed down your body.
